The Art of Storytelling

Join the Caroline County library and community to explore the art of storytelling on Saturday, March 7th at 12:00 pm with Liz Newell as a foundational aspect of human connection and healing. Storyteller Liza Newell invites participants into the world of story as a place where our individual life experiences merge with the collective, creating new pathways of empathy and understanding between us. Engaging and entertaining, Liza will share stories that bridge the gap between past and present, where individuals from all walks of life can come together to celebrate the beauty and complexity of the human spirit. 

Liza Newell is an award-winning educator and performer who blends storytelling, song, puppetry, and dance to explore the beauty and complexity of the human spirit. Her workshops range from single-afternoon sessions to multi-week courses, inviting participants to discover the many ways storytelling can enrich our daily lives. Liza’s performances are a rich tapestry of expression, interweaving fairy tales, folklore, mythology, and personal narratives. She has brought the transformative power of storytelling to a wide range of audiences, including healthcare executives, universities, museums, festivals, schools, and retirement communities. Liza believes curiosity and imagination are powerful catalysts for change. Through her work, she invites individuals from all walks of life to journey into realms of wonder, reflection, and transformation.
